I’m Lindsay Reinholt, and I am an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. What does that mean exactly? Well, I work with passionate, life-loving women and girls who, for whatever reason, know that they are not currently able to fully live the life they want. Maybe they have been experiencing digestive issues that they haven’t figured out, maybe they have had some big change (baby, new relationship, job situation) that has inhibited their ability to care for their own health, or maybe they just know they would feel better about themselves if they dropped a few pounds.
I myself have dealt with many of these issues. From as far back as I can remember, I was preoccupied about my weight. I have never been a big girl but not what I would call “skinny” either.
Throughout my teenage years, there wasn’t a day that went by that I didn’t think about my weight and engage in some sort of “self-bullying” by thinking negatively about my body. Once I got into my twenties, like many other people, I naturally became much more confident in myself. I also became very interested in holistic living, and that interest has revolutionized the way I eat and live my life. As a result, this has helped me drop a few pesky pounds, but also love the body I have now…today.
Another crucial piece to the puzzle is my struggle with digestive issues. Shortly after starting college, I began experiencing GI symptoms that I couldn’t seem to explain. Every doctor I saw just wanted to give me the diagnosis of IBS and tell me to deal with my symptoms with medication.
After years of trying various coping methods (think: meds…run to the bathroom…meds…probiotics…bathroom…etc.), as well as several invasive procedures and testing, I chose to do an elimination diet that finally showed me I had an intolerance to gluten that was to blame all along. I now live gluten-free, which has been absolutely life-changing and completely freed me from my digestive problems.
My latest personal health adventure has been having two babies in the past couple years! Going through the journey myself has shown me that pregnant and postpartum women need lots of specialized support to help them cope with all the changes happening to their bodies and best prepare themselves and their babies for a happy, healthy future.
Beyond that, I enjoy spending time with my kids, gardening, reading about health and nutrition, spending time outside, cooking, speaking Spanish (I used to teach high school Spanish) and enjoying time with friends and family. My husband Mitch is an optometrist, and we have a 5-year-old miniature goldendoodle named Maggie.
If any part of my story resonates with you, I highly encourage you to connect with me. Finding wellness has truly been life-changing for me, so much so that it led me to completely change my career path so I could help other people, maybe even YOU, find that same freedom. Healthy living is not restricting and boring–it is empowering and fun, and I look forward to coaching you towards that truth.
